What Is the AI Word Explorer?
The AI Word Explorer is a privacy-first vocabulary tool that finds synonyms, antonyms, and related words using a large language model running entirely in your web browser. Powered by WebGPU, all processing happens locally on your device. Enter any word and get a detailed list of alternatives with explanations of meaning differences, nuances, and usage context.
How to Use This AI Word Explorer
- Select an AI model (Qwen 3 4B is recommended for multilingual support) and click "Load AI Model" to download it. The model is cached for future visits.
- Choose an exploration mode: "Synonyms" for similar words, "Antonyms" for opposite meanings, or "Related Words" for thematically connected terms.
- Type a word or short phrase in the input field and click "Explore" (or press Enter).
- The AI will generate a numbered list of words, each with an explanation of how it relates to your input.
How It Works
This tool uses WebGPU to run a language model directly in your browser. The model analyzes your input word and generates relevant vocabulary based on deep understanding of word relationships, semantic fields, and usage patterns. For reasoning-capable models like Qwen 3, you can watch the thinking process before results appear. The tool supports over 100 languages and provides culturally appropriate vocabulary suggestions.
Requirements
WebGPU is supported in Chrome 113+, Edge 113+, and Chromium-based browsers. A GPU with at least 4 GB of VRAM is required. The initial model download ranges from 1.3 to 5 GB and is cached for future visits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my data sent to any server?
No. The AI model runs entirely in your browser using WebGPU. Your input words are processed locally and never transmitted anywhere.
What is the difference between the three modes?
Synonyms mode finds words with similar meanings, ordered from most to least similar. Antonyms mode finds words with opposite or contrasting meanings. Related Words mode discovers thematically connected terms, including words from the same domain, commonly co-occurring words, and conceptually linked vocabulary.
Does it support languages other than English?
Yes. The recommended Qwen 3 model supports over 100 languages. Enter a word in any language and the AI will respond with vocabulary in that same language, including nuance explanations appropriate to the language and culture.
